Tom Howitt

Founder and Principal

Tom Howitt is a strategic and hands on Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary with more than 30 years' experience leading complex finance and administration functions for ASX listed companies.

His career began at EY as a Taxation Manager before moving into investment banking and senior CFO and Company Secretary roles across diverse industries including healthcare, technology, biotech, medical devices, genetics, resources, investment banking and funds management.

Immediately prior to founding Tantum Advisory, Tom served for seven years as CFO and Company Secretary of a profitable ASX listed healthcare company. During his tenure:

  • Led the company's ASX listing in late 2019

  • Managed inclusion in the S&P ASX All Ordinaries Index

  • Helped drive market capitalisation from $26 million to $580 million in nine months, making it one of the best performing ASX companies that year

  • Oversaw more than $20 million in EBITDA generation in 2023

  • Facilitated three dividend payments totaling more than $13 million, one of the few companies in the sector to achieve this

  • Served as Interim CEO for eight months in 2024 during CEO transition
